A six-page comic juxtaposing the events of the book "Night Watch" by Terry Pratchett with the lyrics to the song "Blossoms" by The Amazing Devil. On each page, the lyrics are imposed stylistically over the artwork in white using a medieval blackletter-style font. Page One: the lyrics "and I stare/ at the soldiers before me". Vimes, as John Keel, squares his shoulders and stares with a scowl out into the distance. In the panel beneath, The young lance constable Vimes stands similarly posed, looking back up at the older Vimes with eyes full of determination. Flanking young Sam on either side are six other watchmen, including Colon and Snouty. They, too, stare determinedly at their sargeant-at-arms.

Page Two: the lyrics "all my blossoms/ that have waited to rise". Reginald Shoe stands triumphantly atop the barricade assembled from household furniture, brandishing the flag of Ankh-Morpork in one hand. He stares down at the city street below and shouts a rallying cry. Both versions of Vimes flank him on each side; the younger wields his sword, the elder grits his teeth and grips his brass knuckles. Beside the elder Vimes, Constable Colon cocks his crossbow. The four men are adorned with a sprig of lilac on their person. The scene is bathed in a fiery orange glow as lilac petals fall through the air like embers.

Page Three: the lyrics "and I walk/ and I walk/ and I walk/ and I walk". Four snapshots of Vimes walking through different parts of Ankh-Morpork, each with its own type of cobblestones: A closeup of his sandaled foot on long rectangular stones; a low-angle shot from behind as he trudges through a mud-covered alley; another shot of his foot treading on smaller, rounder stones; and a view from the front as he emerges from a narrow street paved with large, irregularly-shaped flagstones.

Page Four: the lyrics "and I run/ and I run/ and I scream out to the sky". Vimes sprints down another Ankh-Morpork street, this time naked and covered in blood after his return to the present day. His face is contorted with rage and adrenaline. In the next panel, he erupts into an animalistic roar. This is mirrored by The Beast that rises behind him, an animal resembling a panther. The dual screams are cast in severe, visceral red light and shadows.

Page Five: the lyrics "and my soldiers sit by/ like I'm newly baptized". Vimes, now clothed and cleaned up, stands shoulder-to-shoulder with Lady Sybil as they embrace their newborn son and look down at him with tender, loving gazes. Little Samuel sleeps wrapped in a bundle, and Vimes gently strokes the baby's face. A heavenly orange light encircles the family like a halo.

Page Six: the lyrics "in the blossoms/ that fell from above". Vimes stands in front of John Keel's grave, upon which a bouquet of lilac and a hard-boiled egg have been placed. He looks up with a melancholy expression into the canopy of lilac trees. Their purple petals rain down gently. The grassy cemetery is illuminated in the light of the setting sun.

Every step I choose to take begins to set the world aflame!

And the soldiers march behind me,

I can hear them beat their spears!

And for the first time in all my life,

I know I'm more than what I fear!
